When I went in for an oil change the guy said that the fluid was low and looking brownish instead of red. I have a 14 Crown Victoria's and they take 8 quarts if you do not drain it all the way from the entire transmission but if the transmission is new it takes 13 quarts! Transmission fluid costs a little more then oil prices. You can go to the dealer but they will charge you a arm in a leg. We do it our self's but we have did a ton of transmission changes. It will make your transmission last so much longer. Get it done soon. Does the transmission smell burnt?? You can go to Jippy Lube or some place like that they are the cheapest but I do not recomend them very much. They pay their help $6.00 a hour and most of their help is people just have got out of high school.
