How do you desassemble the oil filter gide pin from a 2001 toyota corolla?

i was changing the oil to my 2001 toyota corolla and when i went to put buck on the oil filter one of the treads got damage and i did put the oil filter back but it went in side ways. i tightended good but still dripping a little drops of oil.
