The oil filter is on the driver's side of the engine, near the radiator, under a plastic cover. Basically, 1) drain the oil, replace the drain plug. 2) change the filter. 3) add new oil!

To get to the filter you need to remove the big plastic cover on top of the engine. It is very easy to remove, there are 3 screws and it just pulls up. Look to the right underneath the intake and you will see a black plastic round cover on the engine block. need the 32 mm or 1 1/4 inch wrench to remove that.

Hints: remove the oil filter first to allow the oil to drain into the pan so you get all the old oil out.



ONLY use Mobil 1. Do not use any other kind of oil. Saab ONLY recommends Mobil 1, so stick to it.



The interval for oil change should be when the time for service warning is on.
